Outdoor Ltd are proud to be able to retail the world famous Sigg Aluminium Drinking Bottle.

SIGG History

It all started with a simple hiker's bottle. Today, the SIGG bottle has acquired cult status. What happened is a success story that started in Biel in 1908. Küng, Sigg & Cie. manufactured leisure goods, kitchenware and electrical appliances. The company relocated to Frauenfeld in 1916, where it helped pioneer the legendary tradition of Swiss quality. Since 1998, SIGG has concentrated on its core business: drinking bottles that deliver ultimate customer benefit.

SIGG now has what many covet: a famous brand. We always aim to be that little bit better. And it is that which has made us what we are today: number 1 - and recognised even by New York's Museum of Modern Art.

SIGG, the brand leader for comprehensive, high-quality drinking systems for leisure and sports use.

Production

While the SIGG bottle may look much like any other, it in fact packs a lot of high-tech. SIGG bottles are extrusion-pressed from a one-piece aluminium blank, which results in uniform, seamless walls.

Swiss know-how has always played a key role in the bottle's development. Devotion to precision and the will for top-quality manufacturing have always driven production of SIGG bottles. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, which is why there have been many copies over the years - yet none of them can match what is and remains the original Swiss bottle.

The Material

Sigg Bottles are produced using a single piece of extruded pure aluminium - resulting in a light, seamless, robust, long lasting and of course recyclable product.  Once it's many years of use have come to an end, a Sigg Bottle may be placed in the recycling bin without a second thought.

The Internal Coating

The Sigg Bottle's exclusive easy to clean internal coating is guaranteed to be taste and scent neutral, i.e. tastes and scents from previous contents will not linger once the product has been washed.  The internal coating also reduces the chances of bacteria build up helping to keep drinks fresher for longer.   It is also fully resistant to fruit acids and isotonic drinks, elastic, absolutely unbreakable and won't peel away, even when subjected to extreme stresses or when the bottle's exterior is dented.

Ecology

Sigg takes care of the earth.  That's why Sigg Bottles are 100% recyclable.  Production through their own water treatment plant is guaranteed environmentally compatible and preserves resources.  By using an eco-friendly reusable Sigg bottle the amount of plastic bottles going into landfills can be reduced, plastic bottles take over 1000 years to biodegrade.

Hygiene

Sigg bottles are particularly hygienic, the bottle tops can be easily taken apart allowing all the individual parts to be thoroughly cleaned.  There is also mounting evidence that most plastic containers are leaching toxins into the beverages we're are drinking, the long term effects of which are still unknown, Sigg bottles are a safe alternative.

Manufacturing Process

On the underside of the bottle is the indent where the bottle is held in place while it undergoes its spray coating. This process is the same on all Sigg and can on occasion be mistaken for a dent. All Sigg bottles are manufactured with this indent, known as a "Registration mark" and is a normal part of the manufacturing process.
